It's Started...

The next Teamfishcake film is in the process of being produced.

Dan and I co-directed a few scenes this weekend, which were then captured by Mike and I last night and watched to make sure they turned out ok.

Everyone looked great and worked really hard, meaning Dan and I didn't flap over details or fight to motivate anyone, we hope when this thing is churned out, it will be our best video yet. Fuck it, I KNOW it will because I am violently dedicated to this one!!!

I'm going to take the footage back up to Edinburgh today and see if I can put together a little teaser trailer.

Quack!

Counter Production
I've written fuck all for Team Fishcake lately.

Why? Probably for lots of excuses. It comes down to what I have been doing for the last 12 months.

My father passed away last year while I was temping, so not only could I not take time off to get my head together, but I lost the motivation to be creative. Fortunately Stu and his missus came to see me and cheer me up, then he lovely Phil from TwistedMindz and I collaborated on a video, which should emerge soon. Yeah, so I managed to do SOMETHING to get out of the depression of bereavement. I did "Radio Mr John 2006" shortly after, then since January of this year, Dan and I finally got around to writing up his idea for the next Fishcake film which we begin filming next week and should release next year.

But what of the gaps inbetween? Well, from Jan - April I was in 'Allo 'Allo with the Edinburgh People's Theatre, playing "Crabtree" and saying various turds ring, to get loofs frim the iddience, then I worked as front of house manager for their festival show this summer, so nights in front of the computer, churning out madness, were not forthcoming.

Mike and I finally did the video he always wanted to do, the jarring, paranoia inducing, argument-forming "The nihilistic artists' minimalist expression of protest as a device to counter the short attention span of the broadband generation", when he stayed at mine before summer, but my flash animation/ mad story/ spite rant/ photoshopped cartoon/ untitled as yet insanity/ days seem to be behind me, did anyone ever read them anyway?

Which leads us onto the future: I have been speaking to all the other fishcakers at length about what we want to do as Teamfishcake next and how we are going to do it and we all feel that the future lies in VIDEO. Everyone has broadband now, so up and downloading better quality clips is the de facto thing these days, so I have been concentrating on writing sketch ideas and scripts for mini-films, which will end up on ear, for your fucking eyes.

Any questions?
